David Corn is a smart guy.  I know he gets ignored or vilified by most magat(s) on the planet because he writes for Mother Jones and is an on-air analyst for MSNBC.  But when you read an article lie his latest and find yourself thinking, “He is saying almost EXACTLY what I’ve been thinking!”  you tend to pay attention.

And he is dead-center / spot on with his question as to why the Democrats in Congress are totally MIA in the face of the current Trump-Musk “blitzkrieg” that will, if left unchecked, destroy our nation.  Corn asks – quite cogently, by the way – “Why are Democrats bringing a teaspoon to a gunfight?”

“Yet in the face of this onslaught—amid this existential battle—Jeffries and Schumer display little sense of urgency. The same goes for many other elected Democratic officials. I previously wrote that Democrats are bringing a teaspoon to a gunfight. But it’s unclear if most Ds even recognize they’re in a gunfight.”

It makes me remember something Jim  Wallis said some years ago:  “The Republicans get it wrong… But the Democrats JUST DON’T GET it.”  Proof of this was my futile attempt to contact my Congresswoman this past week.  Her website’s contact form requires you to post your zip code; when I did so, it automatically posted an “error” telling me “You are not in Ms. Adam’s district.”  When I then called her office to ask why – if she is not my elected rep – was her name on my ballot this past November, I received no reply beyond “We’ll look into this.”

A couple of things are true:  Trump / Musk are going to destroy every single part of our government that they can.  And the Democrats better get off their asses and decide to do something about it… or they will drown in this new “swamp” Trump is creating.  This clip of former Republican National Chairman Michael Steele is saying much the same thing.

 Wake up Democrats!  Before it’s too late.
(Then again, that ship may well have already sailed.)
