One week into the chaos that was one a proud and fair nation…  It’s time to see if anyone has an accurate lie count for Trump 2.0.  (One newspaper is already asking the question; will he top the 30,575 lies of his first term?)  Several counted day # 1 lies at 20 – just below his daily average from term 1.  The Guardian’s US edition mention that he only waited 15 minutes before he notched up the first proof that he’s still our “liar-in-chief,”  India Today has already done two “Gotcha” lists  that detail clearly his lies and how distorted they were from actual truth.

Interestingly enough?  U.S. Papers aren’t yet biting like they did last time.  (Of course, NO ONE believes that Jeff Bezos’ version of the Washington Post will have the guts to run a tally this time – Ben Bradlee must be turning over in his grave to see what’s passing for journalism at that once proud institution.)  Are journalists and newspapers actually as scared of the gestapo like tactics of this new administration as some think they are?  (Like the way Republican Senators are being threatened by white house officials:  “It’s pass-fail. You either support everyone or you don’t,” a senior White House official told NBC News. “The Senate needs to advise and consent, not advise and adjust.”)

Welcome to 1930s Germany folks:  That’s where we are headed.
