I’ve never met Darrell Hampton from Dayton Ohio; don’t have a clue who he is, what his political views are (although I can guess at that); don’t know the least little thing about him…  But I understand why he would write these words to the NY Times:

“Dear Mr. President, they’re not coming to your side, sir. They don’t like you, sir and they mean it when they say they want you to fail. Also, sir, they do not have to agree with you in order for you to make a decision. Make a decision to honor the words you spoke during your campaign and we will back you up!”
