Two weeks ago I went to Philadelphia to see the ocean liner SS United States one last time.  She’ll be leaving Pier 82 within a few days under two to Mobile, Alabama.  There she will undergo environmental remediation over the next 10 – 12 months, then will be towed out into the Gulf of Mexico off the Destin / Fort Walton area.  There she will be sunk to become the largest artificial reef in the world.  Here’s the video footage I recorded in south Philly on Tuesday, November 5th.
