I suspect no one – other than Judy or myself – will really be interested in all 53 minutes of our practice paddling last evening! We’re headed out to try Cape Lookout again next week and really needed to get some seat time in before heading back to open water for a long paddle across Back Sound and Lookout Bight, so our usual “laps” around upper and lower Cowens Ford Islands on the Catawba river were just what we needed the past couple of days.
While you may just want to sample a bit here and there (You’ll enjoy seeing how elegant Judy is in her boat – she can carve an exact straight line upstream or downstream, even with her flatwater skeg still up and stowed!) I also want to give a shout out to the folks at P&H / Pyranha Kayaks over in Great Britain for making about the best boats on the market today. It shouldn’t take you long to see why we both love our P&H Virgo Sea Kayaks so much! (Oh, by the way; you might figure out here and there just how fast they are! Kind of like a cross between a rocket and an arrow on the water maybe?)
And if you only catch a snippet or two here or there? Fast forward to some of the sunset and clouds on millpond still water!
Peace,
RPS
