So… Today our out-of-control, liar-in-chief is suppose to slap our closest allies and trading partners with 25% tariffs? The obvious question; will it really happen or is this just another lie by the Trumpkin to make sure the entire country pays attention to his childish antics?
A second question follows: If it actually happens today – and that’s not a foregone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination – then is he REALLY this stupid? Does he truly think something every credible economist tells us is an abortion of a train wreck will “help” the economy? (Makes you wonder; if this is “HELP,” God save us if / when Trump gets around to wishing “HURT” on us!) Or does he truly just want to wreck it all and fiddle like Nero when our version of Rome burns?
An interesting aside: I regularly email my senators, reminding them that as one of their constituents, they most certainly are not representing me. Ted Budd never bothers to reply, but I’ve actually got a couple of replies from Thom Tillis. He defended his vote to confirm Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense, claiming in his email reply, “At a time when our nation faces a dangerous set of national security challenges from China, Russia, and Iran-backed proxies in the Middle East, it is imperative that the transition of a Secretary of Defense is seamless and the decision-making process at the Department of Defense is as responsive as possible. Pete has a unique perspective based on his career path and is unquestionably passionate about modernizing our military and supporting the brave patriots like himself who serve our nation.” I think I need to email Senator Tillis again in light of these supposed tariffs, asking him “If China is such a threat that we need Pete Hegseth as SedDef, then why is Trump only hitting them with a 10% tariff while he’s killing Mexico and Canada with 25% and setting off a trade war????
In other words? Is this just more of the “shock and awe” / create chaos BS in every single breath? Run the lie count up faster and farther than he did between 2016 and 2020? Which could more aptly characterize the beginning of Trump 2.0 as “All BS, All the Time.” Or does he really want to be the “LAST” president of the United States? (Not because he’ll be crowned as king for life like his pal / mentor Putin has been in Russia; but because he and his billionaire friends are going to completely kill our republic – destroy it so completely that none of the king’s horses nor king’s men will ever put this Humpy Dumpty back together again.)
I keep saying it: R. I. P. America: We are going to miss you.
