A great ESPN special on TV tonight – about the U.S.F.L. – the United States Football League.  That “other” league from way back in the 1980s… the “spring time” football league.  Remember it?  Not up to NFL standards – even with Hershal Walker, Doug Flutie, Steve Young, Sam Mills, Jim Kelly?  Coaches like Jim Mora and Steve Spurrier?  Owners including Burt Reynolds?  That league that Donald Trump almost single-handedly killed?

I’ve still got my New Jersey Generals and Philadelphia Stars baseball caps somewhere around the house.  Wish I still had my official U.S.F.L. ball.
