With apologies for my title – I don’t usually use such coarse and vulgar language so casually… But this article about migrants being sent to the Vice President’s residence leaves me with no desire to even attempt civility towards either Gregg Abbot of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida.

Since both are apparently callous and petty enough to weaponize the plight of migrants by sending them elsewhere at great expense, they both most definitely qualify as world class douchebags;  the only real question is trying to figure out which one is the greater douchebag.

Does Greg Abbot get the title for sending two busloads of migrants from Texas and having them dropped off – with no support mechanism or any kind of guidance – at the U.S. Naval Observatory, which happens to be the Vice President’s residence?  He seems glibly willing to get some press points for treating human beings like dogs sent to the animal shelter:  “Abbott tweeted that he’d sent the buses that arrived Thursday: “We’re sending migrants to her backyard to call on the Biden Administration to do its job & secure the border.”

Or does top douchebag honor go to Desantis for his little stunt yesterday; flying two planes of immigrants to what he called “sanctuary” at Martha’s Vineyard? DeSantis called it a “relocation program,” according the CBS News; many, if not most of us call it a despicable example of what republicans are now capable of.  Most, if not all, of the migrants had no idea where they were being sent; they were lied to and used as pawns in some kind of sick, xenophobic game that only someone who should be called a douchebag could possibly think appropriate or humane.

In either case?  If folks who live in Florida or Texas aren’t embarrassed that their governor is such a douchebag – embarrassed enough to vote him out on his ass in the next election?  Then frankly I’m more than willing to say the hell with all of them.  To all my friends in Jacksonville, Austin, and San Antonio;  you need to move if you don’t want to be guilty by association to such lowlife douchebags as these you currently have running your state.
